I'm Vanessa Ayala from St. Croix, Virgin islands U.S. I started painting in 2019 utilizing acrylic paint on canvas as a way to share my thoughts with the world. My artwork is inspired by the patterns I have come across in my everyday life and from the many cultures I have researched in my way of understanding the mind frames of different groups of people. I utilize pattern work in my pieces to pay tribute to the past and to tell the stories that are passed down from generation to generation. In my own way, I capture root moments in time that are seen in our present moments. From our past, we can derive the stepping stones to transcend to the future.
